Thank you for your interest in applying for the Cherry Blossom Queen Program. The application for the 2025 Program is now open.
The Application will be divided into 2 parts:
Part 1 of the application is brief and gives the Queen Program an opportunity to collect basic contact information of applicants in our pipeline. This is also what needs to be filled out to get an invitation to one of our Get to Know the Queen Program Virtual Events. Please fill out Part 1 of the application as soon as possible.
Part 2 of the application is longer and requires submission of two short essays, a resume, a letter of recommendation, and a recent photo. Part 2 of the application is due by 11:59PM on Friday, November 1st.
Some of the qualifications to be eligible to apply as a candidate for the Northern California Cherry Blossom Court are as follows:
- be a female of at least 19 years of age and not more than 26 years of age by the first festival weekend in April
- be of at least 25% Japanese ancestry
- have been or currently an active participant/volunteer in a community organization
- have been a resident of Northern California for at least 3 years prior to application due date
